Sara Bareilles , does a pretty cool cover of Single Ladies. Introducing her smooth jazzy/ doo wop-ish rendition of the 2008 Beyonce Knowles hit at a billboard in studio session. 

Her Debut song “Not Gonna Write You a Love Song” hit the charts back in 07??, launching major release. What’s really interesting about that song it it’s directed towards label Execs. who were requesting that she make that “one radio friendly love song”. I suppose she fulfilled that task and still got to subliminally voice her opinion on it. 

Still sucks regardless , from a music business point of view i understand wanting that one hit song to draw capital to the label. But i believe music should always be at the mercy of the creator. Substance is successful in my opinion in long term music careers. Some musicians/ artist make music to make money. while others make music to change lives. I’ll stick with the latter and continue to support substantial music.
